Range of topics evaluated

Depending on your experience, you could be evaluated on:

  • Collection and process of hydrometric flow data
  • Hydrometric rating curves
  • Installing and replacing hydrometric equipment
  • Hydrometric station levelling
  • Sediment transport and measurement
  • Principles for hydraulics
  • Acoustic Doppler profiler- theory
  • Practical use of Acoustic Doppler profilers
  • Hydrometric time-series data. 
 

Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

The RCC process evaluates your skills and knowledge gained through prior work experience enabling you to achieve your qualification faster. You will complete a series of assignments and participate in a one day site visit where your assessor will document and collect further evidence. 

RCC is suitable for people with at least five years experience in hydrology. If you have less experience, we also offer the Field Hydrology Diploma as a workplace training programme with the support of a training adviser*.

* The RCC programme does not include the support of a training adviser. You will however have an assessor to guide you through the process.
