Great support from learners for Primary ITO training
8 August 2024
More than 90 percent of Primary ITO learners are satisfied with their experience of training with us, according to results from a recent learner experience survey.
And it’s just one of the great reasons to enrol in training, says Primary ITO Executive Director Andrea Leslie.
Around 700 Primary ITO learners took part in the survey in May. The survey asked learners to rate their experience of training with Primary ITO, and whether they would recommend the training to a colleague or friend. It also featured a series of questions about wellbeing, including whether learners feel connected, supported, and know where to access information to help their physical and mental wellbeing.
Survey highlights – Primary ITO learners:
- 93 percent of learners are satisfied with their experience at Primary ITO (94 percent for Māori and Pasifika learners).
- 93 percent of Primary ITO learners feel connected, supported, and know how to access information and services to support their wellbeing (95 percent for Māori and Pasifika learners).
- 94 percent of learners feel it is easy for them to gain the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their training goals.
- 97 percent of learners feel their culture is valued and respected.
Andrea Leslie says the strong results for learner satisfaction and wellbeing are pleasing.
“Looking after our learners is at the heart of what we do. These outstanding results reflect the level of one-on-one care and support provided to learners by our Training Advisers, Learning Support team, and others across the country every day.
“We pride ourselves on helping to grow the skills of people in the primary industries, including farmers, growers, meat and dairy processors and many others working to produce the food we eat, and provide rural and other services across New Zealand.
“Primary ITO works with everyone, from New Zealand’s biggest exporters to businesses just taking on their first staff member. Our people are wherever businesses need them, from the deep south to the far north and everywhere in between.”
