Learners must be employed in the sector and ideally have several years' experience on-farm.

Summary
This micro-credential is suitable for farm staff who are responsible for effluent and waste management on-farm. This micro-credential takes 6 months to complete and includes 3 off-job workshops.
Graduates will be able to:

improve health and safety for people on farm both when handling waste and when dealing with effluent.

decrease the amount of waste generated through principles such as reduce, reuse and recycle.

improve nutrient reuse on farm through efficient use of existing on-farm infrastructure.

develop a clear Effluent Management Plan that includes local bylaws relevant to where the farm is located.

demonstrate knowledge of animal health, water and air quality and greenhouse gas emissions related to effluent management.
